The ACMM task is about Building the Temple of God.

"At the king’s command, they removed from the quarry(D) large blocks of high-grade stone(E) to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple. The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram(F) and workers from Byblos(G) cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple." 1 Kings 5: 17-18

"In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel, or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built." 1 Kings 6:7

As we build the Association of Churches Ministers and Ministries (ACMM), we should do so, understanding the task as that of creating a more enormous Temple of God with greater responsibility and an all-encompassing mission.

In its mission, the ACMM concludes 'thereby magnifying Christ. The magnifying of Christ in the greater Temple requires the craftsmanship of similar wisdom as one King Solomon used to build the temple of God. Arguably the largest man-made project in honor of God, everything about the Temple had to be detailed in a way that creates not only a structure befitting of the greatness of God but a structure sufficient enough to let the Holy Ghost roam freely as it interacts with those coming into and leaving the Temple.

The word of God says, "at the king’s command, they removed from the quarry(D) large blocks of high-grade stone(E) to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple." Removing large blocks of high-grade stone from the quarry is a physical process requiring skill and patience; otherwise, the stones quarried might lose the grade and quality necessary for the type of temple we are building.  Quarrying also means breaking some of the strongholds to which the grade of stones we want is attached. It will also mean once the grade we want is carried away to the Temple building site, what remains at the quarry might be remnants out of which quality was extracted and thus still usable for other purposes of the Temple.

The high-grade stones are quarried to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple. Therefore, the foundation character of the stones dictates that the method of quarrying must be so meticulous that we do not have carved or quarried out stones that have cracks, as the entire temple will be dependent on these stones to stand in posterity.

As the Bible accounts, not everyone will be up for the task, like not any other stone from the quarry will be good enough to be used as the 'foundation of dressed stone. In fact, the task of getting the very stones were given to 'the craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and workers from Byblos.' They were the ones at the time of building the Temple who could "cut and prepare the timber and stone for the building of the temple."

In His guidance to King Solomon, God created a process of building the Temple in such a way that in each phase of building the Temple, the omnipresence of the Holy Spirit is respected and allowed to prevail. Like in Solomonic times, the building of ACMM, which I want to put to the men of God herein, charged with the task, ACMM is of equal significance. Therefore, in building this specific Temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry should be used, and no hammer, chisel, or other iron tool is to be heard at the temple site while building.

The team assembled by the GO, which is still being assembled, is made up of blocks dressed at the quarry. Men of God who constitute this team have already been quarried by God and dressed up as Pastors, Evangelists, Apostles, Bishops, and so on. The hammering has already been done by God at the quarry; they are sized and packaged to become the dressed foundation of this great Temple. Chiseling happened at the quarry; thus, no iron tools will be required at the temple site. Only putting the right block and, according to the plan, at its proper place is left to happen.

The task of this leadership will now be to go to the quarry and select out of the quarry additional high-grade stones to use as blocks to put on top of the dressed-up foundation.

As God inspires me, I will further unpack this quarry, quarrying, and quarried blocks required to face this task of building the greater Temple that ACMM is. I pray to get the revelation of who or what are the "craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and workers from Byblos" ACMM requires because as a unit charged with the task and given The GO as our leader, we are already Solomonic in the responsibility and accountability we took.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray that you continue revealing to us the quarry where your high-grade stones are. Lord, give us the craftsmanship to carve out without cracking or compromising the quality you want in and for the Temple. Give our GO the Solomonic wisdom we require to bring together the pockets of knowledge and intellect he has assembled to build this greater Temple to magnify Your Kingdom.

Amen

The DD Mabuza I know, dies a lesson to leadership succession mavericks.

When we completed our Secondary Teachers Diploma, together with two cohorts that followed us, at the Transvaal College of Education, and we later realised many other colleges, in 1986, we vowed to become force multipliers of the liberation struggle through the power of the chalk and chalkboard.   We left the college with a battle song ‘sesi bona nge sigci somoya, sesi bona nga madol’nkomo, Siyaya siyaya’. We left the college with a battle song' sesi bona nge sigci somoya, sesi bona nga madol'nkomo, Siyaya siyaya'. This song, a call to war with anyone, system, or force that sought to stop us from becoming a critical exponent and multiplier to the struggle for liberation, was a powerful symbol of our commitment. We understood the influence we were going to have on society. I was fortunate to find a teaching post in Mamelodi. Mamelodi was the bedrock of the ANC underground. At one point, it had a significantly larger number of MK operatives than several other townships. Sa...

Farewell, Comrade Bra Squire, a larger-than-life figure in our memories: LITERALLY OR OTHERWISE

It’s not the reality of Cde Squire's passing that makes us feel this way. It is the lens we are going to use to get to grips with life without him that we should contend with. A literally larger-than-life individual who had one of the most stable and rarest internal loci of control has left us. The thief that death is has struck again.  Reading the notice with his picture on it made me feel like I could ask him, "O ya kae grootman, re sa go nyaka hierso." In that moment, I also heard him say, "My Bla, mfanakithi, comrade lucky, ere ko khutsa, mmele ga o sa kgona." The dialogue with him without him, and the solace of the private conversations we had, made me agree with his unfair expectation for me to say, vaya ncah my grootman.    The news of his passing brought to bear the truism that death shows us what is buried in us, the living. In his absence, his life will be known by those who never had the privilege of simply hearing him say 'heita bla' as...

Celebrating a life..thank you Lord for the past six decades.

Standing on the threshold of my seventh decade, I am grateful for the divine guidance that has shaped my life. I am humbled by the Lord’s work through me, and I cherish the opportunity He has given me to make even the smallest impact on this world.  Celebrating His glory through my life and the lives He has allowed me to touch is the greatest lesson I have learnt. I cherish the opportunity He has given me to influence people while He led me to the following institutions and places: The Tsako-Thabo friends and classmates, the TCE friends and comrades, the MATU-SADTU friends and comrades, the Mamelodi ANCYL comrades, the ANC Mamelodi Branch Comrades, the Japhta Mahlangu colleagues and students, the Vista University students and colleagues, the Gauteng Dept of Local Government colleagues, the SAFPUM colleagues, the  SAAPAM community, the University of Pretoria colleagues, the Harvard Business School’s SEP 2000 cohort network, the Fribourg University IGR classmates, the Georg...
